Bekasi, September 30, 2025 – Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Trisakti Bekasi, in collaboration with LLDIKTI Region III, hosted the Optimizing the Competence of Educational Staff in Faculty Career Development and the Achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) 3 Workshop, at the Harry Tjan Silalahi Auditorium, Bekasi Campus.
The event featured keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng. from Universitas Tarumanagara, and Dr. Nina Nurhasanah, S.E., M.M. from Universitas Esa Unggul. A total of 113 participants representing 75 universities under the coordination of LLDIKTI Region III attended the workshop, reflecting strong enthusiasm and collaboration among higher education institutions in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.
The Role of Universities in Lecturer Career Development
In his presentation, Prof. Agustinus emphasized that universities play a central role as the architect of lecturer career development. Faculty members, he noted, are not only educators but also researchers and contributors to society. Therefore, their professional growth must be strategically planned through academic ranks, ranging from Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, to Full Professor.
“Lecturer development must not be sporadic. It should be measurable, structured, and impactful both for the individual and the institution. Universities must provide systematic support—policies, facilities, and administrative assistance—to accelerate academic career progression,” Prof. Agustinus explained.
Strategies to Achieve KPI 3
Meanwhile, Dr. Nina highlighted the importance of KPI 3 (Faculty Engagement Beyond Campus) as a key benchmark in assessing higher education performance. She underlined that faculty involvement in collaborative research, community service, and professional practice in industry enhances both institutional reputation and academic outcomes.
“External engagements enrich teaching materials, strengthen research publications, and increase the societal impact of universities. At the same time, they contribute to the credit points required for academic promotion. These activities must be well-integrated into the Tri Dharma of Higher Education,” she stated.
Optimizing the Competence of Educational Staff
The workshop also addressed the significant role of academic and administrative staff in supporting faculty performance. Educational staff were encouraged to improve managerial and digital literacy skills to effectively assist in academic administration, research documentation, and the facilitation of academic promotions.
By strengthening their competencies, staff can ensure that lecturers are better supported in achieving their career targets, while also improving institutional efficiency and accountability.
Institutional Commitment
Through this workshop, STIE Trisakti Bekasi reaffirmed its commitment to fostering faculty excellence and professional staff development. The initiative reflects the institution’s broader mission to enhance competitiveness both nationally and internationally, in line with evolving standards in higher education.
The program concluded with a joint commitment by faculty, staff, and leaders from 75 universities under LLDIKTI Region III to implement structured career development plans and to actively pursue KPI 3 achievements in a sustainable manner.
