Trisakti School of Management (TSM) students have again achieved a brilliant accomplishment at the national level by winning 1st Place and 4th Place in the Duta Wana Financial Insight Competition (DWFIC) 2025. This competition was organized by Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana Jogja and took place from August to September 2025. Team S² Capital, comprising Qaysa Najwa Nadhifa, Sylvia Andriany, and Julius Ariyanto, successfully secured 1st Place. The 4th Place (1st Runner Up) position was attained by Team Forte Capital, consisting of Marchelo Evandria Maheswara, Sella Putri Widjaya, and Vashya Aprillia Setiawan.
DWFIC 2025 is a competition focused on Equity Research. Participants were assigned to select one issuer (public company) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, then conduct an in-depth analysis. This analysis covers fundamental aspects, industry, financial performance, business prospects, risks, and valuation. The final result of the analysis is presented in the form of a comprehensive Stock Research Report accompanied by investment recommendations (Buy, Hold, or Sell). In this competition, Team S² Capital carried the theme “Investment Prospects in the Digitalization and Renewable Energy Sector”, while Team Forte Capital raised the theme “Financial Digital Transformation in Sustainability Era: Smart and Wise Investment Strategies”.
Regarding the main factors for victory, Team S² Capital mentioned two things: “Consistency of Analytical Logic” and “Quality of Delivery”. Their research report had a solid analytical flow, where all aspects were integrated and mutually supportive. Furthermore, the team was able to present the research results confidently and answer the jury’s questions using strong data. Meanwhile, Team Forte Capital stated that their main success factor was competence, gained from knowledge and expertise from previous competitions. Both winning teams also reportedly obtained information about this competition from the TSM GalVesT (Investment Gallery) group.
Both teams agreed that they gained very valuable learning. The students learned to apply professional financial analysis tools, such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) modeling and comparative valuation, to real-world data. The competition was assessed as a crucial link between academic theory and practice in the financial industry, as well as honing the ability to process complex information into a logical and convincing investment narrative.
This achievement is even more commendable given that DWFIC 2025 is a prestigious competition open to university students or equivalents throughout Indonesia. The TSM teams successfully competed against participants from other renowned universities, such as Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ). Team Forte Capital hopes to continue learning to develop even better in future competitions. Similarly, Team S2 Capital hopes this accomplishment can inspire more students to delve into the world of finance and investment, and serve as strong initial capital for their future professional careers.
