Jakarta, 11 May 2026 – Trisakti School of Management (TSM) continues to accelerate its path to becoming a global-standard higher education institution. This commitment was emphasized through a strategic meeting with a delegation from the University of Huddersfield, England, held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the TSM Jakarta campus.
This meeting served as a forum for exploring comprehensive collaborations in academics, research, student mobility, and doctoral program development. The Huddersfield delegation, led by Prof. Abhijit Sharma, PhD (Director of Strategic Partnerships) and Dr. Kate Lavender (Dean of the Doctoral College), was warmly welcomed by TSM’s leadership, including the President, Dr. H. Aulia Danibrata, SE, MM, as well as the Vice Presidents and Heads of Department.
During the institutional profile presentation session, Dr. Astrid Rudyanto, S.E., M.Ak., Head of the Center for Research and Community Service (PPPM), emphasized TSM’s academic excellence, which holds Unggul accreditation. She underscored the international recognition the TSM Accounting Program has achieved through ACCA and ICAEW certifications, as well as the existence of an International Class prepared to produce competitive graduates in the global market.
In response, Prof. Abhijit Sharma, PhD, introduced the University of Huddersfield as a Triple Gold-ranked institution in the UK’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). The university also demonstrates a strong commitment to research, hosting approximately 1,200 doctoral students, 40% of whom receive full scholarships. This dynamic discussion resulted in several crucial agreements, particularly on strengthening sustainability-themed research. Both institutions agreed to encourage joint research and collaborative publications between faculty members, leveraging the potential of Indonesian data as an object of international research. As a concrete step, TSM invited the Huddersfield delegation to participate as keynote speakers at the prestigious International Conference on Sustainability, Accounting and Business (ICSAB) in 2026.
In addition to research, the human resource development agenda was a key topic. Discussions included opportunities for TSM lecturers to serve as external examiners at Huddersfield, as well as joint supervision and cotutoring schemes for PhDs, which provide administrative flexibility for doctoral students. TSM and Huddersfield also explored international funding opportunities such as the Turing Scholarship, the Newton Mobility Grant, and support from the British Council to facilitate student and faculty exchanges.
Recognizing the complexities of international administration, the two institutions agreed to initiate collaboration through more agile and flexible activities, such as guest lectures and academic seminars, while simultaneously drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a formal legal basis. As an immediate follow-up, TSM will exchange lecturer profiles to identify areas of expertise suitable for joint research. The meeting concluded with optimism for building a mutually beneficial strategic partnership. This step is expected to not only improve the quality of both parties’ scientific publications but also provide a transformative international academic experience for the entire TSM academic community.
