Jakarta, May 2026 – As a concrete demonstration of its commitment to improving the quality of education and ensuring graduates’ relevance to the needs of the workforce, Trisakti School of Management successfully hosted the 2026 Business and Industry Gathering. The forum, held on Friday, May 22, 2026, served as a platform for active communication and collaboration between the educational institution, its alumni, and employers who attended in person at the TSM campus.
This strategic meeting was attended by representatives from TSM, including Dr. Wibisono Soediono, S.E., M.B.A., CMA., QRGP. (Vice President III), Annisa Kanti, S.E., M.Ak., RSA., BKP. (Head of the Career Development Center), as well as several faculty members from the Accounting and Management Program. Additionally, industry partners from various leading companies such as PwC Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia, Astra Auto2000, BDO Indonesia, Lippo Malls, KAP Johanes Juara Rekan, PT Medeia Potentia Tbk., PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk., and Orang Tua Group were also present to provide evaluations and constructive feedback for the development of the student curriculum. Furthermore, this forum also invited alumni from various professional fields as well as employers to share their experiences, offer input, and provide testimonials regarding the quality of TSM graduates.
During the interactive discussion, alumni shared their experiences studying at TSM and how what they learned has significantly contributed to their career paths. The forum also served as a constructive platform for evaluating industry needs and aligning students’ skills to better meet the demands of the modern workplace.
One of the main topics discussed was the widespread use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in corporate environments and corporate audit processes. In response to this phenomenon, Imanuel Harley, a 2017 graduate of the Accounting Program, stated that it is important for the university to foster students’ critical thinking skills so that they do not accept technological innovations at face value.
“If AI provides answers in the form of PSAK references, explanations of accounting standards, or specific conclusions, that information still needs to be reviewed, compared, and manually verified against official sources to ensure the accuracy, appropriateness, and validity of the information provided,” said Imanuel Harley.
The issues of cybersecurity and the protection of sensitive corporate data were also raised during the discussion. In line with this, Ayu Ningtyas, a 2010 graduate of the Management Program, noted that an understanding of Personally Identifiable Information and data security must be prioritized to ensure that confidential company information is not accessed or shared indiscriminately through AI. Additionally, the need for competencies in the capital markets sector was highlighted by Zaki Zahran Hartara, a 2022 graduate of the Management Program, who suggested that TSM encourage students to obtain professional certifications such as WPPE and WMI to capitalize on the growing career opportunities in the future.
Meanwhile, employers have given positive feedback regarding the quality, competence, professionalism, and readiness of TSM graduates in the workplace. Christesa Melani, a representative from PT Medeia Potentia Tbk., noted that the educational standards currently implemented by TSM are already very high. However, she also suggested that alumni be more bold in exploring career opportunities outside the traditional fields of finance or accounting, and emphasized the importance of efficiency in conveying ideas.
“In the professional world, the delivery of ideas and presentations is now expected to be increasingly effective and concise. Presentations to the Board of Directors generally no longer use overly lengthy slides; instead, they are delivered briefly and concisely so that ideas can be understood within a limited timeframe,” said Christesa Melani.
In response to this, other alumni from the 2014 class of the Management Program, such as Jonnathan Jordian, suggest that efforts to improve communication and public speaking skills should be directly incorporated into classroom teaching methods, such as assigning presentation assignments with a limited number of slides. In his view, individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, are communicative, and are capable of teamwork are far more successful in the professional world.
Active interaction among faculty members, alumni, and employers of graduates is a crucial step for TSM in fostering sustainable relationships between the academic and professional worlds. Through the DUDI Gathering 2026, TSM is committed to continuously developing and improving the quality of education in order to produce outstanding, adaptable graduates who are capable of meeting the challenges of the business and industrial sectors.
