Students of Trisakti School of Management (TSM) once again achieved national recognition through Team S² Capital, which won the Best Paper award at the Sebelas Maret Investment Championship (SMIC) 2025. The competition, organized by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) from October to November 2025, served as a strategic platform for developing investment research aligned with the capital market industry’s growing emphasis on data-driven and technology-based analysis.
SMIC is an investment competition that demands comprehensive understanding, ranging from mastery of theory to the ability to analyze real-world cases. In the initial stage, participants are required to take a capital market knowledge test before advancing to the final round, where they prepare and present an investment proposal in front of a panel of judges.
This proud achievement was attained by Team S² Capital, consisting of Accounting students from the Class of 2024. The team members are Sylvia Andriany (alumna of SMA Negeri 47 Jakarta), Qaysa Najwa Nadhifa (alumna of SMAN 1 Metro), and Julius Ariyanto (alumnus of SMA Santo Leo 2). Throughout the competition, the team demonstrated strong collaboration by adopting the theme “Driving Innovation to Sustain Productivity and Quality.” Their analysis focused on sectors with growth potential through
technological adoption to address the challenges of modern capital market dynamics.
During the preparation process, the team implemented a clear division of roles, conducted research based on credible sources, and carried out regular presentation rehearsals with their mentor. This strategy strengthened the flow of their arguments, ensured effective time management, and enhanced the clarity of their systematically structured investment analysis. From the beginning of the competition to the achievement of their target, the team consistently maintained solid collaboration.
“We aimed to develop logical research that is relevant to current market conditions while ensuring that each team member fully understood their role,” said a representative of Team S² Capital. Strong team synergy and in-depth research were the key factors behind their achievement of the Best Paper award.
Through this accomplishment, Team S² Capital hopes to inspire other TSM students to explore the field of investment from an early stage. This achievement also reinforces TSM’s commitment to consistently producing highly competitive students who make meaningful contributions to Indonesia’s capital market sector.
