Trisakti School of Management (TSM) once again demonstrated the quality of its students through the achievement of Team JJS, which secured 3rd Place in the Atma Jaya Yogyakarta Supreme Accounting Competition (ASAC) 2026. This competition serves as a platform for accounting students to sharpen their analytical thinking, accuracy, and speed in solving various accounting problems.

Team JJS consists of Justin Angwyn (Alumnus of SMA Budi Agung), Jason Harlee Jonathan (Alumnus of SMA Negeri 19 Jakarta), and Steven (Alumnus of SMA Yos Sudarso Batam). The competition, organized by the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, was held from February 28 to March 14, 2026. In this event, Team JJS competed against teams from leading universities such as Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, Universitas Gadjah Mada, BINUS University, Universitas Diponegoro, and Universitas Surabaya.

ASAC 2026 carried the theme “Ngèlmu Kanggé Lampah, Budi Kanggé Gesang,” which conveys the philosophy that knowledge should be applied in life, with character serving as its foundation. The competition consisted of multiple stages designed to comprehensively assess participants’ abilities. It began with an online preliminary round involving 50 multiple-choice questions, followed by the first elimination round combining theoretical and computational problems within a limited time. In the next stage, participants faced an individual matching challenge. Entering the semifinals, the competition became more intense with a bidding system, where teams risked their points to answer questions of varying difficulty levels, as well as a ranking system that tested speed and accuracy. In the final round, participants were challenged with a case study that required in-depth analysis, solution development, and presentation before a panel of judges, followed by a Q&A session.

During their preparation, Team JJS emphasized collaborative learning and intensive case discussions to strengthen their understanding of the material. Their main strategy focused on balancing speed and accuracy in answering questions at every stage of the competition. “We focused on maintaining strong teamwork and ensuring that each member was prepared to face different situations, especially when thinking under time pressure,” said a team representative.

For the team members, participating in this competition provided valuable learning experiences, particularly in enhancing critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence in presenting analytical results. They hope this achievement will motivate them to continue improving and to participate in more competitions in the future.

This accomplishment once again reinforces Trisakti School of Management’s commitment to developing outstanding, high-achieving students who are ready to compete at the national level.
