Jakarta, June 2026 – Students from Trisakti School of Management (TSM) have once again demonstrated their commitment to quality and competitiveness in the business field. In the prestigious national Business Case Competition (BCC) Ekspress 2026, organized by the Vocational School of IPB University from April 23 to May 23, 2026, a TSM student team consisting of Mahardini Mutiara Prameswari (alumna of SMAN 3 Kota Jambi), Reynard Filbert (alumnus of Candle Tree School), and Steven Widjaja (alumnus of SMA Kristen Yusuf) successfully achieved the remarkable feat of placing second.
With the theme “Future Enterprise: Great Vision for a Sustainable Solution,” this competition tested participants’ ability to formulate real-world business strategies that have a long-term impact and provide sustainable solutions. In collaboration with CUiT as the case collaborator, teams were challenged to solve a case study involving the company’s product an app focused on community enablement. They were tasked with addressing various problems and challenges to advance the app’s development amid today’s highly competitive digital ecosystem.
The journey to securing second place was achieved through meticulous preparation, including a clear division of tasks and intensive collaborative discussions aimed at delivering optimal results. The team’s primary strategy was to address the case study’s challenges by creating unprecedented innovations and establishing a unique selling point (USP) for the application. Recognizing that an innovation requires a strong data foundation (proven data) to succeed, they overcame the challenge of seeking validation by conducting direct field research. This tactical step a field survey in the form of a questionnaire to obtain primary data was the key differentiator in the eyes of the judging panel.
For the team, this competition provided valuable lessons on the importance of adopting a strategic approach that stands out, particularly in app development within a highly competitive digital ecosystem. This experience not only sharpened their analytical skills and problem-solving abilities in the business world but also served as a crucial step in building their professional portfolios.
This achievement feels even more meaningful because they managed to excel and compete fiercely against various teams from prestigious universities in Indonesia, including the University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Bina Nusantara University, and Bogor Agricultural University. This success is clear proof of the quality of TSM students who are capable of competing at the highest national level.
May this brilliant achievement serve as a valuable stepping stone for their future careers and learning journey. Congratulations on this proud accomplishment, and may the fighting spirit demonstrated by the team spread and serve as a positive inspiration for the entire TSM academic community to continue exploring their potential.
